Please note that there have been date changes to Phase 2 of this promotion. Phase 2 entry period now starts on or about 12:01 am (PST - USA) on August 20, 2013 and ends at 11:59 pm (PST- USA) on September 13, 2013. In addition, prize must now be completed before May 31, 2014.

NCAA/HIGH SCHOOL ELIGIBILITY. I understand and agree that if I am, or may become, a student-athlete I am responsible for my own eligibility and/or amateur standing. I am aware of, and agree to comply with, all applicable rules, regulations, and bylaws of my state association, the NCAA and of any other governing body ("the Rules"). I understand the consequences of any failure to comply with the Rules, including but not limited to, loss of my eligibility to participate in future athletic contests in any sport. Nike is not responsible or liable for your participation in this promotion resulting in your ineligibility as an amateur athlete.

1.Who is eligible?

This Contest is open only to legal residents of the below listed countries who are eighteen (18) or older (thirteen (13) and older for legal U.S. residents) at the time of entry and a registered member of NIKE+. Eligible minors must obtain their parents or legal guardians consent prior to participating. If you are not currently a member of NIKE+, you may register by visiting http://nikeplus.nike.com/plus/?show_cc=register. Registration is free. Employees of NIKE, Inc., their subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively "NIKE"), or of other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest, as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children, and each of their respective spouses) and household members of each such employee are not eligible. In addition, NIKE sponsored athletes and their immediate families are not eligible.

Participation constitutes entrant's full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and Sponsor's decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the promotion. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.

2.Who is sponsoring the Contest?

The Contest is sponsored by NIKE, Inc., One Bowerman Drive, Beaverton, Oregon 97005 (the "Sponsor"). Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the promotion if it cannot be operated, conducted or completed as planned, for any reason. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook. You understand that you are providing your information to NIKE, Inc. and not to Facebook. The information you provide will only be used for purposes of the Contest.

3.When can I enter?

This Contest will consist of two (2) entry phases. Phase 1 of the Contest starts on or about 12:01 am (PST - USA) on June 20, 2013 and ends at 11:59 pm (PST- USA) on July 18, 2013 (the "Phase 1 Entry Period"). Phase 2 of the Contest starts on or about 12:01 am (PST - USA) on August 1, 2013 and ends at 11:59 pm (PST- USA) on August 22, 2013 (the "Phase 2 Entry Period"). Entries submitted prior to or after each applicable Entry Period will be disqualified. Sponsor's computer is the official time keeping device for this Contest.

4.How do I enter?

Phase 1

During the Phase 1 Entry Period, visit www.nike.com/epicrun to create and submit a brief description, photo, and hashtag that exemplifies your idea or dream of an epic run. Entries must follow the guidelines in Section 5 below and include the following:

  • a written description of your epic run in 16 characters or less;
  • upload an image that visualizes your epic run;and
  • create and submit a hashtag for your epic run with (e.g., #myepicrun)

You may enter as many times as you like during the Phase 1 Entry Period, however, each entry submitted must be substantially different than all subsequent entries. For examples of Free Your Run Experiences, see www.nike.com/epicrun.

Phase 2

On or about August 1, 2013, the Sponsor will post the top ten (10) finalists from Phase 1. Using the Nike+ Running app on your smartphone device, dedicate your running miles between August 1, 2013 and August 22, 2013 with the hashtag of your favorite Phase 1 finalist. You may dedicate as many miles as you like between August 1, 2013 and August 22, 2013. Entrants who submitted an epic run in Phase 1 will not be eligible to participate or win a prize in Phase 2. By participating in Phase 2, entrants understand that running is a strenuous activity that may involve certain health related risks, including risk of physical injury. Entrants must be in good physical condition and must have the physical capacity to participate in any activities associated with Phase 2 of this Contest (including running) and accept all risks associated with such activities. The Nike+ Running app is required to participate in Phase 2. If you do not have the Nike+ Running app on your smartphone device, you can download and install the app free of charge at the App Store or Google Play, respectively. Apple Inc. and Google Inc. are not affiliated with and do not sponsor or endorse this Contest.

5.What are the requirements for Entries?

Any elements that appear in the entry must be entirely original, created by the entrant, or be in the public domain. Use of any elements that are not original or in the public domain will result in disqualification of an entry, in the Sponsor's sole discretion.

Content Restrictions: The entry must NOT contain:

  • People other than entrant in the photo;
  • Entrant in a sports team uniform in the photo, or mention a team name or other third parties in the description;
  • Logos (other than Nike, Converse, or Hurley);
  • Marks that identify a brand (other than Nike, Converse, or Hurley);
  • Building signage;
  • Material that violates or infringes another's rights (living or deceased), including but not limited to privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights;
  • Images and/or artwork that that are copyrighted, trademarked, protected by trade secret or otherwise subject to third party proprietary rights, including privacy and publicity rights, unless you are the owner of such rights or have permission from their rightful owner to post the material;
  • Nudity, acts of violence, acts that appear to cause injury or harm;
  • Dangerous stunts;
  • Real weapons of any kind, including, but not limited to, guns, knives or projectiles;
  • Drug use;
  • Smoking;
  • Material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, age or any other basis protected by Federal, State, or Local Law, Ordinance, or Regulation;and
  • Material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to the laws or regulations in any state where the entry is created.

Sponsor has the sole discretion to determine whether an entry is eligible. Any entry that violates this section or is otherwise objectionable (as determined solely by Sponsor), will not be considered and will be disqualified.

6.What rights does the Sponsor have to my Entry?

By submitting an entry, you grant the Sponsor the unconditional and perpetual right and permission to copyright, reproduce, encode, store, copy, transmit, publish, post, broadcast, display, publicly perform, adapt, modify, create derivative works of, exhibit, and otherwise use the entry (with or without using the your name) in any media throughout the world for any purpose, without limitation, and without additional review, compensation, or approval from you or any other party. By submitting an entry, you further agree not to instigate, support, maintain, or authorize any action, claim, or lawsuit against the Sponsor, or any other person, on the grounds that any use of the entry, or any derivative works, infringe any of your rights, including, without limitation, copyrights, moral rights. You further acknowledge that the Sponsor is in no way obligated to publish or use your entry in any way. Nothing herein shall constitute an employment, joint venture, or partnership relationship between you and the Sponsor. In no way are you to be construed as the agent or to be acting as the agent of the Sponsor.

7.How will winners be selected?

Phase 1

On or about August 1, 2013, a panel of Judges selected by the Sponsor will select the top ten (10) finalists based on the following "Judging Criteria": (a) accessibility and feasibility of epic run (40%);(b) creativity (30%);and (c) originality and feasibility of epic run location (30%). The top ten (10) Submissions will be shared on Nike.com (www.nike.com) and the Nike Running Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/nikerunning) until August 22, 2013. The public is encouraged to share which Free Your Run Dream Run finalist entry they favor by dedicating their miles to their favorite finalist entry.

On or about August 22, 2013, a separate panel of Judges selected by the Sponsor will select one (1) potential Grand Prize winner based on the above Judging Criteria. In the event of a tie, Sponsor will reevaluate each entry involved in the tie according to the Judging Criteria. The potential winner will be notified by telephone or email (in Sponsor's discretion) within three (3) days of the selection.

Phase 2

Upon the conclusion of the Phase 2 Entry Period, the ten (10) entrants with the highest number of Nike+ miles dedicated to Phase 1 finalist entries (using the respective finalist hashtag(s)) will be deemed potential Phase 2 winners. In the event of a tie, Sponsor will reevaluate each entrant involved in the tie and will select the Winner(s) in a random drawing of all tied entrants received. The potential winners will be notified by telephone or email (in Sponsor's discretion) within three (3) days of the selection.

If a potential winner declines to accept the applicable prize, if the Phase 1 Grand Prize winner is not available to complete their Free Your Run Epic Run before September 30, 2013, if a potential winner cannot verify their eligibility or has violated any of these Official Rules, they will be disqualified and a runner-up may be selected for the applicable prize, at Sponsor's discretion and if time permits. Only one (1) runner-up entrant may be selected, after which the applicable prize will remain un-awarded.

8.What can I win?

Phase 1

One (1) Grand Prize Winner and one (1) guest* will receive the opportunity to run winner's personally designed Free Your Run Epic Run, which will include:

  • Roundtrip coach-class airfare for two (2) to the Epic Run location specified in winner's entry from the major airport nearest Winner's home;
  • Three (3) to four (4) (subject to Sponsor's discretion) consecutive nights (one standard room, double occupancy) hotel accommodations at a Sponsor-designated hotel near epic run location;
  • Running merchandise for winner and guest including a top, bottoms, shoes and Nike+ Sportwatch or Nike + FuelBand (depending on Winner's location)
  • Ground Transportation to/from airport and hotel;and
  • Three (3) meals a day for winner and guest for the duration of the trip.

* If Winner is a legal U.S resident between the ages of 13 and 18, the guest must be the Winner's parent/guardian.

Prize must be completed before September 31, 2013, or the Winner will forfeit the prize.

Approximate retail value ("ARV") for Grand Prize: $8,000 (USD)

Ten (10) Finalists will each receive a Free Your Run Nike product bag, which will include one pair of Nike Free Flyknits shoes, Nike shorts, Nike DriFit Knit shirt, a Nike+ FuelBand or Nike+ Sportwatch and a Nike bag.

ARV of each Finalist Prize: $700 (USD)

Phase 2

Ten (10) Winners will receive:

  • Roundtrip coach-class airfare for one (1) to the Epic Run location specified in Phase 1 Grand Prize winner's entry from the major airport nearest Winner's home;
  • Three (3) to four (4) (subject to Sponsor's discretion) consecutive nights (one standard room, double occupancy) hotel accommodations at a Sponsor-designated hotel near epic run location;
  • Running merchandise for winner and guest including a top, bottoms, shoes and Nike+ Sportwatch or Nike + FuelBand (depending on Winner's location)
  • Ground Transportation;and
  • Three (3) meals a day for winner and guest for the duration of the trip.

If Winner is a legal U.S resident between the ages of 13 and 18, the guest must be the Winner's parent/guardian.

ARV of each Prize: $4,000 (USD)

Prize must be completed before September 31, 2013, or the Winner will forfeit the prize.

Total approximate retail value for all prizes: up to $55,000 (USD)

Total approximate retail value for all prizes for U.S. Winners between the ages of 13 and 19: up to $95,000 (USD)

TRIP RESTRICTIONS: A minor must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times. Departure dates and times are subject to availability and at the sole discretion of Sponsor. Certain restrictions may apply. Actual value may vary depending on Winner's point of travel origin, airfare and hotel fluctuations. Any difference between stated approximate retail value and actual value will not be awarded. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute ground transportation for air transportation depending on Winner's proximity to the Free Run location. Should ground transportation be submitted for air transportation, the difference in prize value, if any, will not be awarded. Airport, airline, tickets and/or hotel accommodations for the Prize are to be selected by Sponsor. Insurance, all expenses and incidentals not mentioned above are the responsibility of the Winner and their Guest. All travel must be completed on the dates specified by Sponsor, or the Prize will be forfeited. Winner and their Guest must travel on same itinerary. An eligible minor may take the trip as the Winner's Guest only if the Winner is the eligible minor's parent or legal guardian. Winner's and/or their Guest's participation in any or all activities for the Prize are voluntary. In the event that the Winner and/or their Guest elect not to participate in any or all designated activities for the Prize, Winner will be afforded no additional compensation in exchange therefore.

Any prize details not specified above will be determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion. Prizes are not transferable and must be accepted as awarded. No cash or other substitution may be made, except by the Sponsor, who reserves the right to substitute a prize with another prize of equal or greater value if the prize is not available for any reason as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion. The Winner is responsible for any and all other costs and expenses not listed above. Prizes will be reported as income to a Winner and the Winner is responsible for taxes, if any, associated with the receipt of a prize.

9.What is the potential winner required to do?

Except where prohibited, a potential winner will be required to complete and return an executed Declaration and Release and/or tax form W-9, if applicable, within five (5) days of being notified. If a potential winner is a minor (as determined by Sponsor), his/her parent or legal guardian will be required to sign the required documents on the potential winner's behalf on accompany minor on trip as his/her guest. The potential winner's travel guest may also be required to sign a Declaration and Release.

10.What other terms should I be aware of?

Unless prohibited by law, entrants agree to allow use of their name, voice, city/state of residence, photograph, and/or likeness for advertising and/or trade and/or any other purpose in any media or format now or hereafter known without further compensation, permission or notification.

The Contest is subject to federal, state, provincial and local laws and regulations and is void in the province of Quebec and where prohibited by law. In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Contest is impaired in any way for any reason, including, but not limited to fraud, virus, or other technical problem, the Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, either: (a) cancel or terminate the Contest;(b) suspend the Contest to address the impairment and then resume the Contest in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules;or (c) award the prizes according to the Judging Criteria from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment. The Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Failure by the Sponsor to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. In the event Sponsor is prevented from continuing with the Contest or the integrity and/or feasibility of the Contest is severely undermined by any event beyond the control of Sponsor, including but not limited to fire, flood, epidemic, earthquake, explosion, labor dispute or strike, act of God or public enemy, satellite or equipment failure, riot or civil disturbance, war (declared or undeclared), terrorist threat or activity, or any federal, state or local government law, order, or regulation, order of any court or jurisdiction, infection by computer virus, unauthorized intervention, technical failures or other cause not reasonably within the control of Sponsor (each a "Force Majeure"event or occurrence), Sponsor shall have the right, in its sole discretion, to abbreviate, modify, suspend, cancel or terminate the Contest without any further obligation.

By participating in the Contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Sponsor, its parent and related companies, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents (the "Released Parties") from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Contest, including, but not limited to: (a) unauthorized human intervention in the Contest;(b) technical errors related to computers, servers, providers, or telephone or network lines;(c) printing errors;(d) lost, late, postage-due, misdirected, or undeliverable mail;(e) errors in the administration of the Contest or the processing of entries;or (f) injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant's participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize (including any travel/activity related thereto). Entrant further agrees that in any cause of action, the Released Parties'liability will be limited to the cost of participating in the Contest, and in no event shall the Released Parties be liable for attorney's fees. Entrant waives the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages. Entrant agrees that the Released Parties have made no warranty, representation or guarantee, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relating to any prize.

11.How will disputes be handled?

Except where prohibited, entrant agrees that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in the State of Oregon. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, entrant's rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsor in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Oregon, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of Oregon or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Oregon.

12.How can I find out who won or obtain a copy of these Official Rules?

To obtain the names of the winners or a copy of these Official Rules, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Nike Free Your Run Dream Run Contest, Attn: Ian Shepherd / JR-2, NIKE, Inc., One Bowerman Drive, Beaverton, OR 97005. Requests must be received within four (4) weeks of the conclusion of the Phase 2 Entry Period.
